~ Skillet Lasagna ~

Tonight I made Skillet Lasagna, one of my family's favorites!

Here are the ingredients you need: 1 lb ground beef, lasagna mix, 2 cups water and one 16 oz. can of tomato sauce.

First you brown 1 lb of ground beef and drain off fat.

Then add the lasagna mix, 2 cups water and one can of tomato sauce

Bring it to a boil (mine took less than 10 minutes to come to a boil).
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

Top with mozzarella cheese if desired...and we always love cheese!
It tastes just as good if not better than lasagna that takes a long time to put together and bake!

Add a vegetable and there you have it.  My hubby went back for seconds!

~ Broccoli, Cheese and Rice Casserole ~

Tonight I made pork chops in the crock pot with barbecue sauce...so easy!

And to keep the rest of dinner easy I made this Broccoli, Cheese and Rice Casserole too!

Here is what was needed: The mixture, 4 Tbsp melted butter or margarine, 1 (8oz) jar of cheese whiz, 1 (10.5 oz) can of Cream of Mushroom soup and 1 cup of water.  I remembered to take a picture of the water this time. ;-)

Take all the ingredients and mix them in a bowl.  Here is the picture with everything in the bowl that was pictured above.

Here is everything all mixed up, see how easy?

Here is the casserole ready for the oven. I had cheeze whiz left over and my hubby is nuts about cheese, so I added some dollups of it on top of the casserole.  Bake at 350 degrees for 35 or until rice is tender (35 minutes was enough for my oven).

Here it is 35 minutes later. Nice and cheesy with the extra cheeze whiz but not required. Yum!

~ Shrimp/Chicken and Rice Casserole ~

I made it with shrimp this time and not chicken...

Here is a picture of all the ingredients needed: Contents of Shrimp/Chicken and Rice Casserole, can of cream of celery soup, can cream of chicken soup, 2 1/2 cups water (sorry didn't take a photo of that but I think we all know what water looks like), 1 cup grated cheddar cheese and either 3-4 cooked and diced chicken breasts or 1 lb cooked shrimp
~

I swapped out Cream of Shrimp soup instead of Cream of Chicken since I was using shrimp, and I didn't have a cup of grated cheddar cheese so just used up some Mexican and mozzarella cheese that was leftover in the fridge.

To add a little spice the dish...

I added some Blackened Seafood Spice to the shrimp before cooking it

Here is the package with the soups added....

I sauteed the shrimp for 3-4 minutes in a little olive oil

Added the shrimp to the mix

Mix it up and pour it into a 9 x 13 pan

Pop in the oven at 350 degrees for 40 minutes

~ Done !  ~

My hubby gave this a two thumbs up!  He really liked the kick to it too with the added blackened seafood spice.

Give it a try!

Cabbage Crunch Salad

~ Cabbage Crunch Salad ~

I got a fresh purple cabbage at the local farmers market last week and so it was the perfect time to make the Cabbage Crunch Salad that I have been wanting to try for some time.  The expiration date was coming up so I took the opportunity to make this yesterday. (It is great that all the products have a "Best Used by" date).

The product description is: Full of slivered almonds, sesame seeds, and Chinese noodles, this salad is full of goodies! Add either olive oil and red wine vinegar or mayonnaise and pineapple. Makes 4 cups.

I made the oil and vinegar salad variation.

First I shredded the cabbage...I forgot to take a picture of it before and after shredding, but I don't do anything fancy.  Just slice it thin and cut it up from there as I  do not have a fancy shredder (or any shredder for that matter) :-)

Mixture after adding all ingredients together

Then I added 1/4 cup of Olive Oil, 2 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar, and the contents of the mix package. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Then serve!

Here is the Cabbage Crunch Salad 30 minutes later. That easy!  The flavors blend in nicely and I really didn't know what to expect because I had never heard of Cabbage Crunch Salad.  This is a definite 'must have again'.

~ Welcome ~

Welcome to my blog!

This blog will feature mixes/dishes/desserts/dinners that I make that are featured on my website SouthernBelleGourmet.com.  I will provide photos along the way to show how to create wonderful dishes just by using these easy mixes!

I became a representative for Gourmet Cupboard a year ago because I have tried many of the products and just love the fact that the gourmet food mixes are all individually handmade in southeast Texas and most contain no preservatives, MSG or chemicals. Each mix includes all of the dry ingredients; you simply add one or a few other ingredients and mix or cook and serve.

This meant a lot to me, to know that the products are not put together at some large factory where who knows what preservatives and other things can get into the packaging before leaving the plant. The mixes are fresh, taste great and makes meal time so convenient!

At SouthernBelleGourmet.com, you will find gourmet food mixes that are everything you will want at your fingertips right in your pantry for snacks, drinks, meals, holidays, and impressing everyone when entertaining!

The things I make will be randomly selected as I was originally going to go through each page and make everything in order, but that would be boring!

We have over 300 delicious, quick and easy food mixes! Choose from Asian Cuisine, Beverages, Breads & Muffins, Cajun Cooking, Coffees, Cookies & Bars, Desserts, Diabetic Friendly, Italian Cuisine, Savory Dips, Meals, Mexican Cuisine, Salad & Dressings, Seasonings and Coatings, Side Dishes, Soups, Sweet Dips and Spreads and Teas! Is your mouth watering yet?

So, enjoy exploring the exciting products at SouthernBelleGourmet.com. If you do buy some yourself to try, I'd love to get your feedback!
