~ Cajun Gumbo ~

This took a little more prep but man did my kitchen smell like a southern restaurant!!
Come see my Cajun Gumbo!

Ingredients: Cajun Gumbo gourmet cupboard mix, water, cooked meat.

Add the contents of the package and 6 cups of water.

Add desired amount of your choice of cooked meant (chicken, seafood or sausage). I chose a pound of shrimp...

And a pound of Italian sausage cut into 1-2 inch pieces

Here they are combined and being kept warm while the gumbo broth is boiling. After add the cooked meat, cook for an additional 10 minutes (sorry I thought I took a picture of this but I don't see it)

Serve over rice.  Nice!!  Hubby liked it too.  Its on the list to 'have again soon' !! Get some for yourself here!

~ Green Split Pea Soup ~

I've been meaning to try this for a while!

All the ingredients are in the soup mix except for 10 cups of Water. How easy is that?!

Directions: Place soup mix and 10 cups of water in large pot. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 2 hours or longer (until peas are done) stirring occasionally. Makes 7 cups.

I made this in the crock put and let it cook all day. It was delicious!  Even took some over to my folks to share!

Forgot to take a photo of it in a bowl but here was a snapshot of the crock pot view
Would I make it again?  Yes! You can buy it or any of the other wonderful mixes right HERE.

~ 5 Minute Microwavable Chocolate Fudge ~

This is a quick fix for a great treat!  Who doesn't like Fudge?! And in just 5 minutes!!

While I was out my hubby straightened out my desk so I don't know if I discarded the instructions or he did, so please when you purchase this, use the instructions attached. I am using the instructions for the Peanut Butter Fudge that I have on hand.  What you need: Package of 5 minute microwavable fudge, butter or margarine, milk.

Directions: Pour contents of bag into microwave safe dish and make hole in middle of mixture.

Put 3 Tbsp of milk and 6 Tbsp butter or margarine cut into a few pieces (I used butter). Do NOT STIR!

Microwave on high for 2 minutes. If it is runny, microwave 1-2 more minutes (it is okay for the butter to be a little runny as you have not stirred it yet). I microwaved mine for 2 min, 30 seconds.

I forgot that after microwave, you add some vanilla (sorry it was not in the ingredients photo). I think it was 1 tsp but not positive as the peanut butter fudge does not call for any vanilla.  STIR Vigorously.

Pour into 9 x 9 pan, cool and enjoy!  I just let it cool at room temperature. Optional - Sift dry ingredients before using.

This fudge never LASTS long when I make it.

~ Welcome ~

Welcome to my blog!

This blog will feature mixes/dishes/desserts/dinners that I make that are featured on my website SouthernBelleGourmet.com.  I will provide photos along the way to show how to create wonderful dishes just by using these easy mixes!

I became a representative for Gourmet Cupboard a year ago because I have tried many of the products and just love the fact that the gourmet food mixes are all individually handmade in southeast Texas and most contain no preservatives, MSG or chemicals. Each mix includes all of the dry ingredients; you simply add one or a few other ingredients and mix or cook and serve.

This meant a lot to me, to know that the products are not put together at some large factory where who knows what preservatives and other things can get into the packaging before leaving the plant. The mixes are fresh, taste great and makes meal time so convenient!

At SouthernBelleGourmet.com, you will find gourmet food mixes that are everything you will want at your fingertips right in your pantry for snacks, drinks, meals, holidays, and impressing everyone when entertaining!

The things I make will be randomly selected as I was originally going to go through each page and make everything in order, but that would be boring!

We have over 300 delicious, quick and easy food mixes! Choose from Asian Cuisine, Beverages, Breads & Muffins, Cajun Cooking, Coffees, Cookies & Bars, Desserts, Diabetic Friendly, Italian Cuisine, Savory Dips, Meals, Mexican Cuisine, Salad & Dressings, Seasonings and Coatings, Side Dishes, Soups, Sweet Dips and Spreads and Teas! Is your mouth watering yet?

So, enjoy exploring the exciting products at SouthernBelleGourmet.com. If you do buy some yourself to try, I'd love to get your feedback!
